Easing the Pain of Morning Sickness: Babyluxe Fridays

It’s Friday and you know what that means! Another incredible post by Mom Expert Dana at Babyluxe Daily. I want to personally congratulate Dana on her new gig as The Winning Pitch PR Firm’s
new blogger! So excited for you Dana!
Consider yourself very lucky if you never had to endure 12 weeks of morning sickness in the beginning of your pregnancy! Some women have it only for the first few weeks, some never have it, SOME have it the entire pregnancy! Most get sick every morning at the same time, but for some it happens at weird times during the day, or wakes them up at night. It’s the not so fun part of creating a life inside you, and it’s all worth it in the end of course, but don’t think you have to suffer through the sickness day after day, there’s a ton of different “cures” for morning sickness, try them all to see which one works the best for you.
Baby #1 for me, no morning sickness at all the entire time! Baby #2 and #3 a full 12 weeks for both, and each pregnancy a different product worked to ease the pain.
Ginger Ale: the drink most women live on while pregnant. It helps soothe a sour stomach when you are sick with a cold so its common sense that it helps soothe morning sickness as well. Plus, no caffeine, so for me I was feeding my carbonation need without the nasty caffeine {Coke, Pepsi, whatever, so hard to give up while pregnant}.
Prego Pops: found online, at your local pregnancy or drug store, these worked wonders for Baby #2. Made from all natural ingredients, these little sour pops worked like magic to give me at least an hour of peace from nausea.
Ginger: Ginger cookies {ginger snaps}, ginger dressing, ginger candy, ginger tea, anything containing ginger has been proven to reduce sickness in pregnant women.
Sea Bands: These work on all forms of nausea, most commonly used for travel sicknesses, but now more commonly used by pregnant women.
To stop morning sickness before it starts never let your stomach reach an empty point, avoid getting overheated, avoid smells that seem to trigger your nausea, try taking your prenatal vitamins around dinner time instead of first thing in the morning or at bedtime, and rest as much as possible!
And for some, medical attention may be needed. If your morning sickness is severe enough, seek the advice of your doctor.
To sum it up…a day of eating in the life of a prego with morning sickness: Dry toast and water for breakfast, ginger snaps for snack #1, a couple prego pops for snack #2, spinach salad {need your iron} with ginger dressing and a liter of ginger ale for lunch, saltine crackers for snack #3, a couple more prego pops for snack #4, and hopefully by this point you are able to eat a decent, non-spicy, no flavor dinner, and finally a nice cup of hot ginger tea before bed. Doesn’t sound too bad and hopefully it’s only for a few weeks!
