Top 10 DIY Wedding Guestbook Ideas

You’ve selected your location, decided on your dress, picked your theme, and completed your wedding registry. Now it’s time to think about the small details of your wedding. If you’re into DIY projects but don’t have time, the guestbook is a great DIY item that won’t consume your life. Here are the top ten creative twists on a traditional item:

10. A blank journal. Go to any art store or bookstore and purchase a blank book. Break the spine (so it sits flat) then decorate the cover and every few pages with pictures of your courtship.

9. Cookbook. Get your favorite cookbook or go buy a couples’ cookbook and have your guests write in the margins.

8. Rocks. Buy small, flat rocks or find some from your favorite beach. Have your guests sign their names with a sharpie. You can display these in vases at your home.

7. His/Her Aprons. Make sure you provide fabric friendly pens!

6. Disected Guestbook. Put a blank piece of paper on each table and provide markers, crayons, and sharpies. This will encourage people to write more than their names.

5. Guestbook with a Twist. Sitting at the table with the guestbook, have a note requesting the guests to answer a question. For example, “Write a piece of marriage advice”.

4. A Frame or Poster. Any piece of wall-art will work, really.

3. Childhood Book. Have your guests sign your/your husband’s favorite childhood book.

2. Scrapbook. Provide colorful notecards that you can put in your wedding scrapbook later.

1. Polaroid. Have someone take a picture of your guests as they come in with a Polaroid then have them sign the bottom of the picture.

Now all you have to do is plan the honeymoon… and there are lots of wedding blog posts for that, too!
