Your Honeymoon OnThe Cheap: Wedding Registry Style
Wedding registries have traditionally been used to ask for kitchen and household items. This is fine if you actually need these items, but what if you don’t? There are thousands of appropriate items you can put on your registry all it takes is a little imagination and creativity. Take some time to think about what you and your fiancé are missing from your home or what would make both of you smile.
Why not put your honeymoon on your registry?
It’s not a secret that weddings can be expensive, so why not ease any financial burden and ask your guests to help out with your honeymoon? It’s as easy as choosing a location and setting up a wedding gift registry where guests can view your vacation locale and choose to donate any amount towards the total cost.
Here is just a sampling of stunning vacation destinations:
San Andres Island, Colombia – This small island is a 40-minute flight off the coast of Panama and is a great destination if you are looking for a quiet laid-back trip. Beautiful beaches, swimming, and super nice locals are some of the highlights of this island.
Croatia – A country rich in culture, they have great food, wonderful people and an array of activities to keep you busy.
Thailand – Boasting beautiful beaches and a wonderful, diverse cuisine this destination has it all. Be secluded on the beaches or venture into Bangkok and check out the nightlife. This country has it all!
Hawaii – If you don’t want to leave the country to find paradise, Hawaii is the way to go. Between the beaches, culture, food and hiking you’ll be in paradise.
Don’t be afraid to think outside the box!

It is great to see how popular the honeymoon registry is becoming! The very first couple that registered with Traveler’s Joy was in 2004. It wasn’t long until we realized there were a large number of engaged couples that were not satisfied with the diversity of the traditional wedding registry. Since then, the honeymoon registry has grown to become a mainstream option for brides and grooms and the industry has experienced significant growth.
We are proud to have helped tens of thousands of couples honeymoon at destinations they may never have considered - a great feeling for our Members and the Traveler’s Joy team.
Finally, we love the IDo Foundation and JustGive.org. Our partnership with them helps our Members give to their favorite non-profit. We encourage all of our Members to sign up with them and the best part is that the donation comes from us - not our Members - so they get to keep those dollars for that extra pina colada on the beach
