Updated “Add to Wishpot” button No comments yet

We recently released an all new “add to wishpot” button you can use on your sites beginning now.  It provides a lighter-weight implementation of our original button that is simpler to include on your pages with much less markup.  It also no longer requires the use of a form, which means it can be included inside your own forms without producing invalid HTML.

The buttons are installed in two parts.

1) A common bit of code you include on any page that has the button.  This code loads asynchronously so it won’t slow down your pages.

2) A snippet of HTML that’s just an image and an anchor tag with HTML5 data attributes.

<a href=”http://www.wishpot.com/” class=”wishpot_button”
data-wishpot-title=”Product Title Here”
data-wishpot-price=”$27.95″>
<img border=”0″ src=”http://www.wishpot.com/img/buttons/addtowishpot139px26px.png” alt=”Add to Wish List” />
</a>

The full list of attributes is documented here.  This layout makes it easy to modify the buttons in JavaScript as well, if you’d like to dynamically set attributes like color and size and pre-fill them into the wish’s notes.
