Techcrunch meetup rocked!
I just got back from the Techcrunch meetup in Menlo Park. Bottom line - the party rocked! It was really beyond my expectations. Michael says that there were about 900 people. I took some pictures, but there are lots more available on the web (see some on flickr or zenfolio).
It seems that everything went perfectly. The one thing I really liked was the great energy in the air, everyone was having a good time - food and wine must have helped - and we got some great feedback on what we are doing on Wishpot! Thanks to everyone that stopped by to check out our demos.
Chris DeWolfe, co-founder of MySpace, stopped by for fifteen minutes to learn about Wishpot. (Confession: Chris talked to Steven for some time before Steven asked “And what do you do?” when Chris answered “MySpace”, Steven finally recognized who he was and felt a little stupid.) Later Steven asked Chris if Wishpot could get any early participation in a MySpace application API. We will keep our fingers crossed.
One of the best parts was shooting the breeze with Duncan Riley from TechCrunch. Great guy. Most people know him as an amazing and insightful writer, but he is also someone you would enjoy having a beer with and just chatting, which we did - actually he had wine.
A short visual play by play. We arrived a little earlier to setup our demo station (we were there at 3.30pm). It was great to meet some of the other startups and chat with the Techcrunch guys.

Around 5.30pm the party got started and the attendees started pouring in. From there on it was really busy for us!

As things started to wind down we had a chance to catch up with our "neighbor" sponsors and some of the attendees left.
All in whole the event was great for us. We received great feedback on some of the features we have and met some new friends!
